You have a small bug in your plugin See https://wpml.org/forums/topic/look-for-strings-while-pages-are-rendered-strings-only-show-when-this-option-is-enabled/ you need to move $this->load_plugin_textdomain(); to the plugins_loaded hook, otherwise it shows English strings on the main language, when it is not English by default @kirill92 Thanks for the insight.
