supportI am trying to get all 10 images to load but only 6 display no matter what I do in advanced and Paging settings. Please advise.
hi @ncash242 We need more info in order to assist with your issue: what gallery layout are you using? do you have a link to your gallery so we can take a look? Please advise.
Thank you so much for your prompt response. That means a lot to me. Here is a link to the gallery: https://honorroll242.com/pictures/ I am going back and forth between the responsive and justified layouts. The gallery preview shows all 13 pics added to gallery. It doesn’t matter if I am using the shortcode or block the result is the same: only 6 pics display. I await your expertise,
hi @ncash242 Thanks for providing more info – that does help narrow this down. The attachments are loaded using a WP query, so if they are working in the admin and not on the frontend, then it usually means there is a plugin or your theme that is messing with the WP query to load the attachments. To confirm this, Install and activate the Health Check and Troubleshooting plugin: Go to Plugins > Add New and search for “Health Check and Troubleshooting”. Click install and activate the plugin. Then enable troubleshooting mode: Go to the Troubleshooting tab and enable Troubleshooting Mode. This will deactivate all plugins and switch to the default theme for your session only. Reactivate only FooGallery and view the gallery page again to see if it still only shows 6 images
I did exactly as instructed. Made no difference. Except make the rest of the site look awful. The gallery page looked unaffected. And still just 6 images. Thanks for the troubleshooting plugin. That’s a great tool. This reply was modified 1 week, 6 days ago by ncash242 .
Hi, can this be fixed or should I try to use another plugin because I set this up for a boat captain who needs to be able to post pics from his excursions and we have been waiting for a fix. Can anyone advise please?
hi @ncash242 Please can you Enable Debugging mode under FooGallery Settings -> Advanced, so I can check the output to try and figure out the images are not loading.
Thanks. Debugging is enabled but it does not change anything display wise. Usually debugging would show some kind of text right? I see nothing. Wouldn’t even know debugging is enabled.
Thanks, the debug output is hidden on the frontend, and confirms FooGallery is only loading 6 attachments on the frontend, and paging/lazy loading are not involved. Could you please go to the FooGallery edit screen for this gallery, find the “Gallery Debugging” box, and send me the value shown under “Attachments”? That will tell us whether the gallery has only 6 image IDs saved, or whether more IDs are saved but some attachments are not loading correctly. That might help point us point to the underlying issue
Attachments 1441,1430,1426,1423,1420,1417,1411,1405,1408,1402,1393,1390,1361 I have 13 images in the gallery but only 6 display. I see 13 values.
Ok, so either there are attachments that are not all public, or your theme is interfering with the poast query behind the scenes when the gallery tries to load all of it’s attachments. I doubt the attachments would be draft or private, so could you change your theme to one of the default WordPress themes for 5 minutes to check what the page does? And when you do, does it load all attachments, or still the 6? Sorry for the back and forth, but it is very difficult to figure this out without access to your site.
OK I changed the site to Twenty Twenty Two and all the pics are on display. My current theme is Solace.
So I changed the theme to Elementor and its working now. Testing some more….
thanks for confirming @ncash242 So it was a theme conflict after all, that was interferring with the attachment query loop. Closing this thread, as the bug is not in foogallery.
