TTFB Issue

We have recently been having a very slow ‘time to first bite issue’ on our website (around 20 seconds). After much troubleshooting, we have determined that if we deactivate our WP Stateless plugin, this issue is resolved (TTFB = 2 seconds) From what I can see all our data has been optimised. Perhaps there is a conflict with another plugin or your theme. Knowing this would help us improve our implementation. But it just became really obvious that as soon as we deactivate WP Stateless we had no issue with TTFB. Very strange! What changed? When did it start to become slow? To be honest, it files like when we renewed an SSL certificate. However I am not sure how that could be related?
