I regularly migrate WordPress sites between production and local development environments for testing. One problem I kept running into was with sites that had HTTPS enforcement enabled on the live server. After restoring those backups on a local environment that only supported HTTP, the site would often become inaccessible, throw redirect errors, or require manual database and configuration fixes before WordPress would load correctly. I tested several backup and migration solutions, but WXD Backup Lite was the first one that handled this scenario properly out of the box. The migration process cleaned up the environment-specific settings, updated the URLs correctly, and allowed the site to run locally without forcing me to manually hunt through the database, wp-config file, or plugin settings looking for HTTPS references. What I appreciated most is that the plugin focuses on recovery and restoration rather than just creating backup archives. The automatic restore point before every restore is another excellent safety feature, especially when testing migrations. For developers, agencies, and site owners who regularly move sites between live, staging, and local environments, this plugin can save a significant amount of troubleshooting time. Clean interface, straightforward workflow, and most importantly, the restore actually worked when I needed it.
