snippet does not show

Hello, i got Version Insert html snippet 1.3.2 on my live page, where it works great. i did a local install on my machine and the snippet is not showing up there. When i deactivate the plugin, i see the code, but when i activate it, the picture does not show. I see though in access_log of apache, that it is getting the picture. I need to see the snippet to evaluate the updates i am doing locally so i don’t break the live page. I cleared all caches after updates, deactivated all other plugins, etc… i am running php5.6 (like on our live page, where it works), but also with php7.3 it does not work. I just updated the local version on the current wordpress version, all plugins are up to date. All that on a firefox 76.0, but also on chromium it does not work.
