supportHi all. Just exploring rental property plugin options and RentPress looks pretty amazing. I’m curious to learn how you would advise giving access to either a rental complex manager, or even individual residents who are renting their apartments on a short term basis. (think condo owners of a complex on a beach in Florida) I’m thinking it would likely be a membership plugin and defining new user roles and capabilities and defining access to the RentPress CPTs maybe? Anyway, not critical for me but thought the use case may be of interest to the RentPress team to consider.
Hi Adam! Thanks for checking out RentPress. I’ve checked with our websites team. For the most part, we’ve used the user role features built in to WordPress for property managers. Sometimes we’ve created custom roles, but in many cases, the teams aren’t so large that we’ve seen it necessary to get super specific. Much of the time, the property and leasing staff we work with are interested in making quick content updates or adding new blog posts and pages. But day-to-day property data management usually gets handled through their data feed systems. And they tend actually ask for less website management functions accessible to them just so they know they weren’t the ones that messed with something! Overall, it sounds like you’re already thinking about this how we would: custom user roles and capabilities. But it really depends on the scale of the project you’re considering. We have built out full internal portals before, and that could be a path forward. Or maybe even multi-site could work. Happy to discuss further if you’d like!
