Read More Links Not Working

I am using Twenty Twenty-Five. When I use Advanced Excerpt to generate the read more link, the link acts like regular text, is not a link. I found this older support question submitted by someone who was working with Twenty Twenty-Three: https://wordpress.org/support/topic/twenty-twenty-three-theme-compatibility-read-more-links-not-working-anymore/ Sounds like the issue of HTML being stripped from excerpts is still happening in Twenty Twenty-Five. This is especially frustrating if your excerpt needs to contain an external link. I am finding post excerpts and read more links in Twenty Twenty-Five to be confusing and inflexible. I, for one, would love if you could update your excellent plugin to address these issues. I would be using Advanced Excerpt now, in spite of its being flagged for not being updated for a while, except that the read more links won’t work.
