`Hi, I’m looking to replace my link shortner plugin because they disappeared & I want all the features they have. Yours doesn’t have the WP option to create categories? I see the category field, but it’s greyed out & I don’t see a way to create categories. And I wanted to be able to search easily for ones I already created & see how many links are are in each category, just like on WP with post categories. And I created a test link & it has the word “recommends” in the URL. How do I get rid of that? Thanks Where is it greyed out exactly? You can assign a category when editing/creating a link and filter by those categories on the Affiliate Links > Manage page. The “recommends” can be changed on the Affiliate Links > Settings page. Take note that it cannot be completely removed (to prevent conflicts with regular posts and pages). After changing that slug, you might have to flush your permalinks to prevent any 404 errors: https://help.bootstrapped.ventures/article/290-flushing-permalinks-to-fix-404-errors Hi, Ok, I had my website coder help me & I understand how it works now, I didn’t read the watermarked field text properly. But we tested the clicks by clicking on the new test link URL & it doesn’t work. I’ not seeing any clicks. https://ourfreesociety.com/recommends/test/ Also, when we tried to import the links thru a CSV file, it first timed out, then only imported about 75%. There’s about 309. And he tried to import with the IDs so that your DB would know what’s already there, skip over those & it didn’t import anything. Then he tried it a 3rd time & it took awhile again & then only imported 70 links total. So he’s established that your IDs are tied to posts, not to the links, so it won’t work. Thanks Have you tried flushing the permalinks as in the article here? https://help.bootstrapped.ventures/article/290-flushing-permalinks-to-fix-404-errors I’m not sure what you mean by “he’s established that your IDs are tied to posts, not to the links”. The ID in the export/import file is the ID of the link. It doesn’t have anything to do with regular posts. When timing out, was there a specific error in the PHP error log? Hi, He did that & still no change. When timing out there was no error. Thanks It could be some kind of compatibility problem. Could you try using the Health Check plugin to test? We have a video in our documentation showing you exactly how to do that: https://help.bootstrapped.ventures/article/108-debugging-plugin-problems Specifically the compatibility mode shown in the video where it basically tests a default theme and no other plugins active.
