supportFirst of all, I really like your plugin so far! I think it’s just what I’m looking for to inspire some FOMO in my customers. I was playing around with it and testing some things out, and I noticed something that has me a little worried. The price of the item continues to update at the cart and through the checkout process, right up until purchase. While it may be unlikely, the possibility exists that a customer could see one price on the actual checkout page while entering their payment info, but be charged a different amount than they see when they hit the submit/order button. I confirmed this with a test of my own. Since I want to use this for relatively short-term discounts with the price bouncing back up to the regular price after an hour or two of a few drops, I worry that customers could get in on the deal at the last minute but not complete checkout in time. They would then get hit with a surprise price increase and have an unpleasant experience. Is there a way to “lock in” the price that the customer sees at the moment they hit the ‘add to cart’ button and keep it set for the life of the shopping cart/checkout process, even if the item price bounces back up to normal while they go look for their wallet or maybe browse other items?
Hi @kickstandhog , thanks for reporting it. Usually, the price should be saved in cart at the price that was added to card and stay like that. Which WooCommerce version are you using? I’ll see to check that out and try to lock the price.
Thank for the lightning fast response! I just updated to version 4.8 today, probably a few hours before installing your plugin. My apologies for assuming that you had not considered this already!
Ok, I’ll check with that within this week and see how to lock the price.
Thank you Igor, I look forward to it!
Hi Igor! Just wanted to check in to see if there was any progress here and make sure it doesn’t get lost in the shuffle of what I assume is lots of things you’re working on. Thank you again!
Hi @kickstandhog , I have not forgot about this but worked on a few projects this week that had to be launched. Now working on a new update for Simple Giveaways which should get finished in a day or two and then I am jumping on this.
Hi @kickstandhog , as promised, the version 1.7.0 now stores the price that was added in the cart on the checkout as well so customers are not surprised with the price change.
That is awesome Igor, thank you very much! I just ran a quick test and it looks like it is working perfectly!
