There should be an option to not delete thumbnails of images which are in posts. Example: MyImage123.jpg is in a post, so it will not show up on the list of files to be deleted, but MyImage123-80×120.jpg is the thumbnail of that image which displays in the wordpress media library page. It does not appear in the content of any post, but I don’t want it deleted because my media library page is full of broken images. http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/upload-janitor/ Maybe you can try use this plugin for delete unused image http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/dnui-delete-not-used-image-wordpress/
