Hi, I have been trying the plugin but I could not manage to make it work, it does detect which images have or do not have alt text but, when I try to generate it it just loads a couple of seconds and does nothing. I tried the premium version to but with the same result. Best regards, Alejandro Hi Alejandro, Sorry to hear the plugin isn’t working as expected, especially after trying the premium version as well. To help troubleshoot, could you share your WordPress and PHP versions? Best regards, Christopher Yeah, im on WordPress 6.9 with PHP 8.3 Thank you Thank you! Would you be able to open your browser’s developer console, click the generate button, and send me a screenshot of what appears? That will help me pinpoint exactly what is going wrong. Best regards It does not let me add the image, the errors say: admin.iife.js?ver=1.1.3:321 GET https://invicsa-airtech.com/wp-json/image-processor/v1/process/ 404 (Not Found) q @ admin.iife.js?ver=1.1.3:321 onClick @ admin.iife.js?ver=1.1.3:321 be @ admin.iife.js?ver=1.1.3:76 Cg @ admin.iife.js?ver=1.1.3:76 Ud @ admin.iife.js?ver=1.1.3:76 Yw @ admin.iife.js?ver=1.1.3:76 Ub @ admin.iife.js?ver=1.1.3:88 zO @ admin.iife.js?ver=1.1.3:88 zb @ admin.iife.js?ver=1.1.3:88 FO @ admin.iife.js?ver=1.1.3:88 (anonymous) @ admin.iife.js?ver=1.1.3:88 Kh @ admin.iife.js?ver=1.1.3:172 bg @ admin.iife.js?ver=1.1.3:76 Fp @ admin.iife.js?ver=1.1.3:88 d_ @ admin.iife.js?ver=1.1.3:76 Ep @ admin.iife.js?ver=1.1.3:76 c_ @ admin.iife.js?ver=1.1.3:76 admin.iife.js?ver=1.1.3:321 Error generating alt text: Error: No se ha encontrado ninguna ruta que coincida con la URL y el método de la solicitud. at q (admin.iife.js?ver=1.1.3:321:17771) q @ admin.iife.js?ver=1.1.3:321 await in q onClick @ admin.iife.js?ver=1.1.3:321 be @ admin.iife.js?ver=1.1.3:76 Cg @ admin.iife.js?ver=1.1.3:76 Ud @ admin.iife.js?ver=1.1.3:76 Yw @ admin.iife.js?ver=1.1.3:76 Ub @ admin.iife.js?ver=1.1.3:88 zO @ admin.iife.js?ver=1.1.3:88 zb @ admin.iife.js?ver=1.1.3:88 FO @ admin.iife.js?ver=1.1.3:88 (anonymous) @ admin.iife.js?ver=1.1.3:88 Kh @ admin.iife.js?ver=1.1.3:172 bg @ admin.iife.js?ver=1.1.3:76 Fp @ admin.iife.js?ver=1.1.3:88 d_ @ admin.iife.js?ver=1.1.3:76 Ep @ admin.iife.js?ver=1.1.3:76 c_ @ admin.iife.js?ver=1.1.3:76 admin.iife.js?ver=1.1.3:321 Uncaught (in promise) Error: No se ha encontrado ninguna ruta que coincida con la URL y el método de la solicitud. at q (admin.iife.js?ver=1.1.3:321:17771) Sorry, it is in spanish, it says : Error: No route matching the URL and request method was found. This reply was modified 3 months, 1 week ago by loloncio . Thanks for sharing the console output! The error suggests the request is being sent as GET instead of POST, which could be caused by a caching issue. Could you try a hard refresh (Ctrl+Shift+R on Windows / Cmd+Shift+R on Mac), clear your cache, and try again? If you have a caching plugin active (like WP Rocket or W3 Total Cache), it would also help to clear that cache specifically. If the issue persists, it would help to know: Which browser you are using Whether you have any browser extensions active (ad blockers, privacy tools, etc.) Whether you have a security plugin like Wordfence installed Let me know how it goes! I have tried a hard refresh, I also disabled cloudflare proxying and enabled developer mode. I do not have caching plugins and I do have a security one, Inmunify (my hosting installed it), that I tried disabling. I use Helium for my main browser and I also tried Firefox and Edge (this one has no plugins and also resets when I close it). It gives the same errors. Hi again! Thank you for trying all these steps! I have released version 1.1.4 which I hope includes fixes that should resolve this issue. Could you please update the plugin and try again? If the problem persists after updating, are you able to disable Immunify360 and test? Security plugins can sometimes interfere with REST API requests. Let me know how it goes! I updated the plugin and disabled Immunify but it still does not work. Could it have something to do with the url? in the console error it looks for wp-json/image-processor/v1/process/ but on the fetch it is wp-json/image-processor/v1/process without the last slash. I have some rules to make every requested url end with /. I disabled them but it is still there, so maybe I have not removed everything, but before continuing with it, do you think that could be the problem? Hi Alejandro, Thank you for digging into this and identifying the issue. It can sure be related. I have just released version 1.1.5, which should fix it. Could you update and give it a try? Best regards, Christopher Hi again! Have you had time to check if the latest version resolves the issue for you? Kind regards Christopher Hi, Sorry, I did not have time to try it until today. I have now and it works! Thank you for your help! Kind regards Alejandro Not a problem but would it be possible to add a global language option? it defaults to english but I want the alt to be in spanish so changing it for each image is a bit slow. Hi Alejandro! Great to hear it is working now! 🙂 Funny you mention the global language option, I was actually working on that feature when you wrote. It is now live in version 1.1.6. If you have time, I would really appreciate a review for the plugin: https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/altvision-ai-alt-text-generator/reviews/#new-post Thanks for your feedback! Oh, great, nice timming with the global language. Another issue I am seeing is that it detects tffs as images. For example: File Information File: Type: application/x-font-ttf Dimensions: 0 × 0 pixels Size: 103.59 KB Also I noticed that the generated text does not seem to take into account the rest of the pages content, is there a specific way to do it for it to work? so far I generate alts in the Alt Text Manager because it lets me generate the 600 I need really fast but I noticed they looked just like a description of the image itself and it does not look at the surrounding elements. It is still better than nothing so I still gave it 5 stars but I have to admit I expected a bit more on that end. I tried generating it from elementor when selecting an image but the generate button does not work there. Hi again, I’ve just released v1.1.8, which addresses some of the issues you reported: TTF files should no longer be detected as images. Context Extraction: I’ve added a new setting, “Enable Context Extraction,” that lets you capture the surrounding context for images. This feature is now available in the Alt Text Manager. (Previously, context extraction only worked in Gutenberg blocks and was limited to one extraction per image.) Elementor compatibility: It appears there may be a capabilities conflict between the plugin and Elementor. I need to investigate this further to identify the root cause. I really appreciate your time and feedback, it helps make the plugin better!! Best regards Solved! Thank you for all your input!
