I’m using WP 6.1.1 and Simple Page Ordering 2.4.3. I want to use this plugin to reorder some custom post types. I’ve used a plugin called Custom Post Type UI (1.13.1) to create the custom post types. I’ve checked the option “Page Attributes” but still am not able to drag and drop my posts in the order I want. Am I doing something wrong? Thanks for any insight or suggestions. The page I need help with: [ log in to see the link] @backpages Thanks for the question. I just tested a similar setup (though Custom Post Type UI v1.13.2) and I am able to get it to work. I created a CPT with Page Attributes checked. I then went to that CPT screen, added a few posts and then switched over to the Sort by Order option. From there I am able to drag-and-drop like I would expect. If you’re still having issues, can you send me an export of the CPT you’ve created so I can test that myself? Hi Darin, thank you very much for the reply. OK, maybe I’m missing a step. What do you mean by “and then switched over to the Sort by Order option?” If you look at this screenshot: https://ps.w.org/simple-page-ordering/assets/screenshot-1.png , there’s a Sort by Order option there. You should see the same thing when you go to the list of posts within your custom post type. Clicking on this will allow you to sort those items. Hi Darin, thanks for the information. So, I tried this. Normally the “Sort by Order” text is a blue link. I clicked on it and it turned black. I was then able to drag and drop my posts to reorder them the way I wanted them. However, this had absolutely no affect on the order of my posts on the website. Nothing changed. And, when I went somewhere else in the admin and then came back to the page of posts the “Sort by Order” text was once again a blue link and all my posts had gone back to the original ordering. All my “drag and drop” changes had disappeared. Not sure if I am doing something wrong or if there is some conflict with my setup. Thanks for any guidance! So for the last problem, you’ll need to click on the “Sort by Order” link to see the posts sorted properly within the admin. The sorting shouldn’t be lost, it just doesn’t display unless you’re on that option. As for the front-end, this plugin doesn’t change anything on how content is output there. See https://wordpress.org/plugins/simple-page-ordering/#i%20reordered%20my%20posts%2C%20but%20the%20order%20didn%27t%20change%20on%20the%20front%20end%20of%20my%20site%21 for more details THANK YOU! That was what I was missing. All good now. Again, thank you very much for the time and help. I really appreciate it.
