supportHi, WordPress 6.8.3, WooCommerce 10.2.2, php8.3 (same with 8.1 and 8.2). As of 5 days ago, the order number sequence started to get gaps in the number sequence. Nothing in the WordPress error_log, no screen errors. Most recent updates to some plugins 30September2025, all orders sequential then and the week after. What could cause this pleae?
Hi there @lencw , Hello there, Thank you for reaching out to Skyverge Support about our plugin, Sequential Order Numbers for WooCommerce! I’m happy to assist you with this. 🙂 I understand that as of the latest releases you are experiencing order number gaps. Is this consistently skipping order numbers each time an order comes in or is it intermittently skipping order numbers? Would you be able to take a screenshot of the order numbers that are skipping gaps for review? Best wishes, Zach @ Skyverge
Hi Zach, yes have done a screen shot of when it started to go wrong. Order sequence then went as follows:12887, 12888, 12889, 12895, 12915, 12921 etc This continued with gaps in the numbers. I deactivated the plugin to try and see if that helped, did some test orders, so there are now a few orders (test and a couple genuine) with order numbers 34627 to 34648 (gaps – as expected) , then reactivated the plugin. The latest genuine order number are 13745 then 13762, back to the original sequence but with gaps as before. So the plugin is mapping to the sequenced order numbers. When disabled, order numbers al reverted to the Woocommerce default. We have used the plugin for nearly 6 years, its worked with no issue until now. How do I send you a screen shot please, I don’t want that public. Thanks
Hi there @lencw , Thanks for getting back to me with those details. That was essentially what I would have been looking for with the screenshot currently. If you would like to go ahead and send those our way as well as any wordpress or woocommerce logs you may you can send them over to support@skyverge.com . 🙂 Best wishes, Zach @ Skyverge
we are have the same issue and similar timing when it stopped working.
Hi, Zach still not resolved, and it appears to be more than just our website where its not working as it should, and also stopped working around the same time. This does suggest that its a plugin issue, not an external issue. Will send separate email. I have considered using an alternative plugin, but that means all order numbers revert to the post_ID number, that we dont want. Its essential that this is sorted please.
Hi there @lencw , When we had last left off, I let you know that there is an open bug report with our plugin development team. This issue affects Sequential Order Numbers and Sequential Order Numbers Pro. I can confirm that it still being worked on. I am sending details directly to you as well. Since we have the bug report active with our plugin team and this was transitioned to our email support, I will be closing this thread, but if any other issues occur SON, please feel free to create a new support thread. Best wishes,
