Works great except as per below. wont replace the image if the filename is the same as the one already present in WP. Will only replace the image if the filename is diferent and the “Replace the file, use the new file name, and update all links” option is selected. This topic was modified 1 year, 11 months ago by neotek . Hi neotek, First of all, thank you very much for your review! Regarding the issue you mention, this is a review so I can’t help you troubleshoot, but would you be so kind as to open a new support thread so we can find out what’s happening? The replacement should definitely work even if you upload the same file with the same filename. Thank you! @sixaxis this reviewer is correct. While this plugin is useful in that it is the only one ShortPixel Image Optimizer will recognize and regenerate an optimization after the swap, if you use the same file name, and have next-gen images served via .htaccess, the old image still gets served (from where, I do not know, because it’s not in /uploads). There’s something up with your .htaccess. @neotek can you please confirm that this is your setup; i.e., next gen served via .htaccess? Also worth noting, is that the updated image will show everywhere in WP Admin (i.e. Media Library, and wherever you have it used, such as in a Woo edit product screen). But only for the logged out user is the stale image shown at the exact same URL. In anticipation of the obligatory ask regarding caching, yes, I did clear every cache; and this disparity between what gets served to logged-in and logged-out is what led me to speculate on .htaccess. Thank you @sixaxis Hi Joseph, Unfortunately, we cannot provide support in a review thread. Would you be so kind as to open a new thread in the ShortPixel Image Optimizer support forums (not Enable Media Replace)? Thank you!
