supportI believe that 1.9.6 introduced some issues with network installs. We just noticed it, but the start of the issues matches the time of the update. I understood that in network install, the main site settings apply to all sites. (It would be nice if there was indication of this, initially we spent a while figuring it out and forgot it again while investigating this issue). However, currently it seems that all the settings are disabled in all subsites. Main site still works with automatic offloading and so on but the subsites don’t. Using cf_images_settings filter to force enable settings does work. We checked and in all subsites none of the images uploaded after the update have been offloaded automatically. For us the main issue was that images that were fully offloaded didn’t load in admin at all because the logic checks settings whether full offload is enabled. (This feature could also be improved by having option to check per image, in case some older images are fully offloaded but the setting is currently disabled). Unfortunately I can’t provide much more info about the environment or give access, but I’m happy to help trying to figure out what’s going on if you can’t replicate the issue.

I did not in fact have that enabled. With the “Network wide settings” enabled in the main site, along with automatic offload and full offload, the subsites still seem to have all settings disabled. I tried uploading image but it is not offloaded and I cannot manually remove local files from any offloaded media. So whether I have the network wide settings disabled or enabled, all subsite settings are always disabled either way. With cf_images_settings filter I could force full-offload so that I can remove local files via media library, but the auto-offload didn’t seem to work if the network wide settings was enabled.
