Hi @egocefalo Thank you for reaching out and for sharing the detailed list of template override notices. What you’re seeing is a common notice when WooCommerce updates its core email templates. Since the Kadence WooCommerce Email Designer overrides these templates to allow custom styling and layout, the version numbers can sometimes appear out of date compared to WooCommerce core. This does not necessarily mean anything is broken on your site. In most cases, the templates continue to work as expected unless WooCommerce introduces a major structural change that requires an update on our side. I’ve gone ahead and reported this to our development team so they can review the template versions and ensure compatibility with the latest WooCommerce updates. They will include any necessary updates in a future release of the plugin. In the meantime, I recommend doing a quick check of your transactional emails (new order, completed order, etc.) to confirm everything is displaying correctly. Hi, I’m seeing multiple WooCommerce template override notices in Kadence WooCommerce Email Designer after updating WooCommerce. The affected files include several admin and customer email templates, and their template versions appear to be behind the current WooCommerce core versions. The emails seem to still work, but I wanted to report it in case these template headers need a compatibility review. File examples: email-header.php, email-footer.php, email-order-details.php, email-order-items.php, admin-new-order.php, customer-processing-order.php, and others in the same folder.
I am also getting notices of a lot of outdated e-mail templates. I suppose an update is coming soon.
I do second reporting this problem; for a long time this problem has existed. When you go to: WooCommerce -> Status …you see in the section Templates all the email template-files of the Kadence WooCommerce Email Designer plugin listed by WooCommerce as not being up-to-date . This has been the case for many years by now on the WordPress/WooCommerce installation I work on; the Kadence email template-files just never catch up with the current version of WooCommerce’s email template-files. Currently the Kadence email template-files are being reported to be somewhere between version 2.5.0 to 7.4.0 , while WooCommerce’s email template-files have version numbers from 9.7.0 to 10.7.0 ; the gap between Kadence’s template-files and WooCommerce’s is currently increasing . Now, I do not say that emails are faulty, they seem to work correctly. And neither can many plugin developers keep up with the relentless and fast-pace updating-addiction of WordPress and WooCommerce developers. However, one would expect that at some point in time –after so many years of observing this– that the versions of Kadence’s email template-files would finally catch up with the versions of WooCommerce’s files. Is it so difficult to adopt the changes which WooCommerce does to these email template-files on a more regular basis? Sincerely, Gevorg
Do you guys think this plugin will keep on being supported for a while or is it smarter to migrate to any other solution? Also I know Woocommerce itself is working on something more modern for mails so I am not sure this is related to why Kandence is not fixing it (future redundant perhaps).
