The slideshow block is no longer displayed! Good functioning visible here for version 2.1.7 Malfunction visible here for version 2.2.0 That’s odd. This must be due to another plugin/theme conflict. I would suggest you to test this by disabling all other plugins first. Disabling the plugins does not solve the problem encountered (cache emptied). Only the return to version 2.1.7 solves this problem and therefore does not encounter any conflict. This must be an isolated issue to your WordPress installation as I cannot replicate it on a fresh installation. You may also try this on a sandbox website service like one of the following to see if the issue appears. https://tastewp.com/ https://instawp.com/ Cheers Hello I started with a new WordPress installation and installed what was strictly necessary for the operation of a “Wood” starter kit offered by CreativeThemes. And I reproduced this malfunction on this page here , to compare to the online demo here . The plugins requested by this starter kit are Blocksy Companion, Stackable, Block slider, WPForms Lite. A return to version 2.1.7 of Block slider makes the slider appear. WordPress 6.3 on PHP 7.4 This reply was modified 2 years, 9 months ago by doczimute . @doczimute Appreciate the information shared. I’ve successfully duplicated the problem and identified the root cause: a complication arising when integrating BlockSlider using Shortcode within Stackable Column. There are two viable solutions: Opt for the Slider block option instead of relying on the shortcode to insert the slider into your page. Consider utilizing a Group block – within which you can comfortably use the shortcode block. Simply take a group block inside your column, and inside that use the shortcode block. Both approaches have been thoroughly tested and proven effective. I hope this helps. Indeed, the insertion with the editor gutenberg “Block slider” allows the slideshow to work. THANKS Glad to hear it’s working well for you! I’m marking this ticket as resolved now. If you could spare a moment, we would greatly appreciate your feedback by leaving a review for this plugin. Your input goes a long way in boosting the product and keeping us motivated. Feel free to share your thoughts here: https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/block-slider/reviews/#new-post Hello @munirkamal So, what I’m taking from this thread is that this issue is marked as a “won’t fix”? Thanks. Hello, the problem encountered has been resolved. @cteduard Are you using the same block plugin and getting the same issue with shortcode block? @munirkamal That would be correct, yes. And the proposed solution is not suitable for you? I mean if you are using Gutenberg editor, it’s best to use the Block instead of shortcode and thus this should be a no-issue for this use-case. Is there a reason you prefer to use shortcode? Hello I don’t have a preference for a short term or a Gutenberg block. However, the proposed demo uses the short term. In general, these starter kits are aimed at novices, including myself. So, it is disturbing when the installation carried out does not obtain the expected result, suggesting an obsolescence of the product. The short term was functional in version 2.1.7. Now identified the problem, I think it would be good to make this short term functional in a future update of the plugin. Well, that demo/template wasn’t provided by our plugin but another theme. There is now an incompatibility with a 3rd party block which we could look into fixing but is not a priority for now because this is not a critical bug as such and has a few viable solution as proposed. That said, your suggestion is duly noted, and we may look into what we can do to fix it. Hello @munirkamal , But how we should handle those users that already use the starter site that used the shortcode block method to output the slider? Long time ago you didn’t had the block to output the slider so we used the shortcode method to build our starter site… Now this method doesn’t work on old sites and everyone should fix it. Isn’t there a way to handle the case with Stackable blocks better? You can test/import this demo and you will see the problem on the home page. @creativethemeshq I will dig into further to see what can be done and will update you. Regards, Munir Great, thank you @munirkamal ! @munirkamal For your information: using a creativethemes starter site and adding more sliders worked fine up to v2.1.8. I was testing several things including the block slider option, but the site was still broken. Using the group block solved it. @munirkamal for your information, the new setup style causes major problems in Safari. The page becomes uneditable as the slider infinitely duplicates itself down the page. Check this video out – https://streamable.com/6pa5z6 And to add to this, we have had many reports so far that all old setups have been broken and the new ones aren’t performing correctly. Should I direct all these reports to this thread? We have released an update today. Please ensure you update the plugin, test it again, and inform me about the current status of the issue. Hi @munirkamal I have taken one of our demos and reverted it to the old workflow (Stackable + Shortcode). It seems rather OK at first glance. I think it’s green from our side. Thank you very much for your responses here. The new changes should really help thousands of users across both of our products. Very much appreciated! 🙏 Inserting the slideshow using the short term or the Gutenberg block works. Thanks. Hi @munirkamal V2.2.1: I reversed two different sliders to the old state (with shortcode only), ie deleted the grouping that was needed for the malfunctioning v2.2.0 to work properly. Now V2.2.1 looks fine to me, ie it works again as expected. Thank you very much. Looks fine now. This reply was modified 2 years, 9 months ago by hsieber .
