supportHi, since September 24th, the Kadence Blocks pro Plugin does no longer auto update. Could it be related to the PHP execution time of 300 seconds? I have already reached out to the Kadence support. We have already reinstated the license, reinstalled the plugin, checked cron, wp-config, firewall with the hosting provider, but could not find a solution. All other plugins, Themes and minor WP updates run fine. Do you have any other idea to solve this? Thank you very much for your help in advance. Your max execution time is quite low, we normally recommend 900 In your “logs” tab is there anything relating to this plugin, is there anything in your php error logs?
Hi, I have upgraded the max execution time to 900, but the updates still do not work. In the meantime I found out that auto updates work with WordPress core, but not with your Plugin. I use it because core does not auto update premium Plugins. I have only an error in incorrectly . Advanced Custom Fields PRO in wp-includes/functions.php but I don’t us it. No, our plugin cannot write to the functions.php and it sounds like it related to your Advanced Custom fields plugin. Can you post what’s in your Logs tab using a tool such as patebin.com? As long as you have your premium licence assigned and up to date, you should be able to update premium plugins.

Hi The error message that you sent contains the following Notice: Function acf_get_value was called incorrectly. The acf normally stands for Advanced Custom Fields. However, this is not likely to be causing the issue anyhow. Can you send me the log from within the EUM plugin (in the logs tab)

The Kadence Theme and Kadence Blocks do the updates, but not Kadence Blocks pro . The one mentioned this is Kadence Blocks and not Kadence Blocks pro . Kadence Blocks pro is not on the list at all.

Apologies, I hadn’t realised there were so many Kadence plugins. Firstly if you disable, EUM, are you able to update the plugin? In your Dashboard >>Updates Do you see anywhere to enter your Kadence block pro licence key: https://snipboard.io/zwF94N.jpg If you try and manually update, does it work, if not can you take a screenshot of any errors. This very much seems like a licences issue (I do realise you have said that you have looked into this with Kadence but it seems only the premium version of this plugin is having this issue)
I am able to manually update Kadence Blocks pro. If I disable EUM, I can update automatically. Thank you for your patience. Unfortunately, as it’s a premium plugin I am unable to test it directly which is extremely frustrating. I have reached out to Kadence and requested a copy. From the look of your earlier screenshot, it does not look like there is any attempt to update the plugin (otherwise you would get a pass or failed message in the log). Have you installed the free plugin WPCrontrol, if not could you and could you list all cron events relating to the plugin? Your other screenshot shows that that you have updates enabled for this plugin but for some reason it’s not trying to update the block pro plugin. This is going to sound basic but can you try disabling and re-enabling both plugins?

The reason I was asking you to reinstall the plugins was in case the cron job for the block pro plugin wasn’t properly set up (re-enabling it will set it up again). Can you also try wiping your setting in EUM under Advanced >> wipe settings. Do you then have an older version of the Kadence block pro plugin? The fact that you can update manually means its not licence related and the fact that other plugins are updated means that your Cron is working ok. Also there is nothing in your logs which means the plugin has not even tried to update the Kandence block pro plugin. It’s possible it could be a plugin conflict but I would expect something in your php error log but the only error you have is unrelated. At the moment I am not sure why only this one plugin is affected.
Hi, I have wiped the sittings in EUM and have installed an older version of the plugin to see if it updates now. I have many websites with the same plugins on other hostings and there it updates without any problem. The mentioned hosting provider has also already disabled the firewall to check if it updates, but it did not.
Is there anything at all different about this site that makes it stand out. PHP version, WP version, a different plugin or theme, different hosting or server?
I have 3 websites on the same hosting provider which do not update with EUM, but they update automatically using WordPress core.
When you say they do not update using EUM do you mean that they use the WP inbuilt functionality that EUM takes over when installed?

It was just because you said via WP Core, I was wondering if you had made any alterations to your wp-config or similar but it doesn’t sound like that is the case. Would you be able to ask Kadence for an earlier version of their plugin so we can see if it updates?

The problem would be that I would not have a licence so it would not update for me.
I have a lifetime license for unlimited websites, that should work.

For me the plugin did update automatically: https://prnt.sc/4PXXVswmeXG9 so it’s still a bit of a mystery. I will keep carry on testing and I will update you with my findings.
Changing the time that the cron event using the free plugin WPCrontrol can sometimes help in these situations.
