I need help getting started

I feel embarrassed to have to ask, but how do you set up a quiz? I thought I created several questions, each multiple choice, each with four answers, one answer in each question checked as correct. I insert the shortcode into a post and I get the quiz description and a start button, when I click the start button, the description clears and that’s all that happens. When I go back to the control panel, my quiz description is listed, but under number of questions, it says 0 I can tell this is a powerful plug-in that will meet my needs, but I wasn’t able to find documentation on setting up the quizzes.
