supportHello, We are experiencing a strange issue on the backend and frontend of our website. On the backend, if we go to All Feeds, the edit screen is not displaying correctly. We see a huge black circle icon with a white check mark. If we attempt to edit, there are more huge icons in the way. Meanwhile, on the frontend, our videos no longer display correctly. We used to have three videos side-by-side with an option to show more. Now, there are no videos showing. Instead, each video shows the title only followed by a huge play icon. This displays vertically like a list. The website is up-to-date (plugins and theme), and we have not changed or added anything new. Any idea what could be happening? Please advise. Thank you
Hi @clairporium ! Thanks for reaching out, and sorry you’re experiencing this. The symptoms you’re describing — huge icons on both backend and frontend — typically point to a CSS or icon font loading issue. Let’s narrow it down: Quick checks: Browser Console — Right-click anywhere on the page → Inspect → Console tab. Look for any red 404 errors (missing CSS/font files) or JavaScript errors. Screenshot anything you see. 2. Theme Conflict — Temporarily switch to a default WordPress theme (like Twenty Twenty-Four). Does the issue persist? If it fixes it, your theme is likely overriding plugin styles. 3. Plugin Conflict — Disable all plugins except YouTube Feed. Does it work? Re-enable one by one to find the culprit. 4. Cache — Clear any site cache (plugin cache, CDN like Cloudflare, browser cache). Sometimes CSS updates don’t load properly. 5. Plugin Version — What version of YouTube Feed FREE are you running? (Dashboard → Plugins) Specifically for the frontend: The “titles with play icons instead of videos” suggests the video embed CSS is broken or the lazy-load JavaScript isn’t firing. Check if you see any errors in the browser console when scrolling to the feed area. Let us know what you find from the steps above, especially any console errors — that’ll help us pinpoint it fast! If possible, please edit your initial post to include your website’s affected page URL as this will allow us to check the issue directly on your website. Best Regards,
Hi Nigel, Thanks for the response. We went through your checks. Here are the results: Browser Console – The only error was related to a different plugin, BUT disabling that plugin made no difference. Theme Conflict – We tried with a default theme, but this didn’t fix the issue. Plugin Conflict – We disabled ALL plugins except Feeds for YouTube, but this didn’t fix the issue. Cache -We cleared the site cache, server cache, and browser cache, but this didn’t fix the issue. Plugin version – All plugins are up-to-date (including Feeds for YouTube 2.6.5), so is the theme, and the PHP version is 8.3. Specifically for the frontend: Scrolling to the feed area did not show errors related to Feeds for You Tube. The only error, as mentioned above, was related to a Spotify podcast plugin, which also shows a feed, but disabling that plugin did not help. We’ve always had both feeds (Spotify and YouTube) on the page with no issue. As for sharing the specific website page, we’d rather not do that here publicly. Is there some other way? Thank you
