I use the Limit Login Attempts Reloaded plug-in to help protect a site I maintain. Looking through its logs, I saw many instances of people using my user ID. I did many cycles of search – change site settings/edit php files – change user name without significant effect, though I may have plugged a few leaks. While I use a strong password, its effectiveness is reduced when my user name is known. It has been a few months since I installed the Stop User Enumeration plug-in. I have not seen any reports of log-in attempts. Time will tell, but, for now, I am happy. Thank you for your detailed feedback.
