supportHi, when I enable PostX I get a fatal error: An error of type E_COMPILE_ERROR was caused in line 88 of the file /[path to plugin]/wp-content/plugins/ultimate-post/classes/Dashboard.php. Error message: Namespace declaration statement has to be the very first statement or after any declare call in the script I’ve disabled *all* plugins and reverted to the Twenty Twenty Five theme, and as soon as I activate PostX, I get this error. I’m seeing this error from other plugins as well, but after three hours on support with the web hosting company (WP Engine), they are unable to find a problem on their end and suggested I contact you. We’re running PHP version 8.2 and WordPress 6.8.1. Thanks. The page I need help with: [ log in to see the link]
Hi, Thanks for reporting the issue. We identified the cause. The fatal error you’re seeing: indicates that there is some content before the namespace declaration in the file. This is not PHP 8.2 specific , but newer versions of PHP are stricter about syntax rules like this. Hopefully, we will release new update tomorrow fixing this issue.
Great, I will check for that. Thanks for the fast reply. Apparently this is going around. I’ve had four different plugins give this same error in the last two weeks. I thought I was going mad 🙂
Hi, We’ve released the update, Kindly check and let me know the update.
Hi there, I hope that the issue has been resolved in our last update. Would you please spare a moment to submit feedback about our plugin: PostX
I just updated to v 4.1.29 and the error is resolved. Many thanks for the quick action on this!
Hi @cmerrick , Thanks for confirming. Kindly share valuable feedback for our plugin. We will appreciate this. https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/ultimate-post/reviews/
