I have a website I’m maintaining that has a membership level access to it, and they don’t want to allow “anyone to register”, as we’ve had real problems with spam. Is there a way to have users register/log in without using WordPress’ login system? Maybe login with Facebook, Twitter or Disqus, but for more than just commenting? We’d like to allow users to post their own questions to the forum. https://wordpress.org/plugins/muut/ Actually, that is how it works by default—using WordPress login is a special feature, but it definitely isn’t required. Out of the box, users need to log in using a Muut account (or Facebook or Google+) to post comments or in the forum. Try installing the plugin; if you don’t set up Federated Identities, it’ll automatically use the Muut login (and it is very straightforward for people to create one instantly without having to leave your site). Let me know if you have any other questions! 🙂
