Hello there. I really like this plugin, but sometimes my clients find using shortcodes a bit intimidating. There is a separate plugin (Simple Footnotes Editor Button) that adds a TinyMCE button and simple UI to the editor screen, but since WP3.9 it no longer works, and it seems the plugin has been abandoned. I understand you are keen to keep this plugin simple (and I commend you for that), but integrating a TinyMCE button would be a great addition for the end user, regardless of their experience with shortcodes. Thank you for reading, and keep up the great work. https://wordpress.org/plugins/simple-footnotes-editor-button/
