HI, A heads up – our website was being hammered with a DDoS attack specifically by the Facebook meta pixel installed by the plugin. The webhost identified it was the useragent “meta-externalagent/1.1”. We had to disable the plugin and our connection with Facebook since it seems the bot was stuck and it was causing a DDoS attack. We also had to put a disallow rule for the useragent in order for the block to all bots to be lifted (we do need the good bots to scan the non-profit website). I’m not sure what can be done but thought you would appreciate knowing. We do need to connect with Facebook for advertising at some point but have it turned off for now. Thanks. Hi @nseeger – thank you for reaching out! Can you share the access log from your nginx/apache server, so we can look into this further? Kind regards, Marija HI Marija, Yes, I have Friday’s logs although the useragent is blocked I see they are still trying to access and with the full bot refusal on, they can’t do a crawl. How would you like me to share the logs? Hi @nseeger , You can send the logs to this email address: woosupport@meta.com , with the subject “Facebook Meta Pixel useragent hammering the website”. Please let us know once you have done so. Kind regards, Marija Hi @nseeger – just wanted to follow up here, Have you had a chance to send the logs?
