WordPress best practice is to create a child theme so you can customize your site and still be able to update your theme without losing your changes. For that reason, this is the first plug-in that every site should be installing. You can read about how to create a child theme and do it via FTP, and I have done so many times — but now there is NO NEED to go through all of that. Just install this plugin. It takes just seconds even on a slow internet connection. Then go to the customize section of your active theme (assuming it’s the one you desire). All you need to do is click the Childify Me button and give your new child theme a descriptive name (descriptive is for your own good, not mandatory) — and you’re done! I don’t recall if you have to go back to manage themes and activate the child theme of it if this plugin even does that for you. The plugin even generates the screenshot. Using is a no-brainer. That it’s helpful and time saving is beyond question. And I’ll add that it’s certainly worth a donation once you see that it saves you time and effort. Hello Deb, many thanks for this review! You really made my day! Cheers p.s. Yes once you created a child-theme you can click on Preview & Activate to activate it if you want 😀
