Hi there! Thank you for reporting this issue. I checked the image on your site and noticed that, unlike the other product images on the shop page, this particular image is not being rendered with the same inline width and height attributes. This could be contributing to the distortion you’re seeing. As a first troubleshooting step, could you try deleting this image from the Media Library, re-uploading it, and then reassigning it to the product? This will regenerate the attachment metadata and may help if the issue is related to the image itself. Could you also confirm whether the issue resolves on its own, or if you need to take any specific action before the image starts displaying correctly again? If there are any steps that temporarily make the issue disappear, please let us know. I’d like to understand your site properly. Please share with us the necessary information below for us to investigate the issue further: System Status Report which you can find via WooCommerce > Status Please use https://pastebin.com/ or https://gist.github.com/ and share a link to that paste in reply here. Once we have more information, we’ll be able to assist you further.
I posted the System Status Report to pastebin yesterday https://pastebin.com/kNrLCkPv Please confirm that you have seen this.
Hi there! Thank you for sharing the system status report. I tried accessing the System Status Report, but it appears to be restricted, so I’m unable to view its contents from my end. Could you please adjust the Pastebin settings so that it’s publicly accessible (or share a new link) and keep it available for at least a few days? Once you’ve done that, we’ll be able to review the report and continue investigating the issue with you. Please let us know when the updated report is available.
I have made this public. Please advise when you’ve done with it so it can be deleted Regards Roland
Hi there! Thank you for making the report public. I’ve reviewed the System Status Report, and everything appears to be fine. I’m not seeing any plugins that would immediately stand out as a likely cause of this issue. To help us investigate further, could you please provide the additional details I requested in my earlier response? I’ll repeat them here for convenience: Could you try deleting the affected image from the Media Library, re-uploading it, and then reassigning it to the product? This will regenerate the attachment metadata and may help if the issue is related to the image itself. Could you confirm whether the issue resolves on its own, or if you need to take any specific action before the image starts displaying correctly again? If there are any steps that temporarily make the issue disappear, please let us know. Additionally, if the issue persists, could you run a conflict test to determine whether another plugin or the active theme may be contributing to the problem? To do this, temporarily deactivate all plugins except WooCommerce and switch to a default theme such as Twenty Twenty-Five. To avoid affecting your live site, you can perform these tests on a staging site. If you don’t already have one, you can create a staging site using the WP Staging plugin: https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-staging/ Please let us know what you find.
Could you try deleting the affected image from the Media Library, re-uploading it, and then reassigning it to the product? This will regenerate the attachment metadata and may help if the issue is related to the image itself. This has been done several times, the last using a freshly generated image. Could you confirm whether the issue resolves on its own, or if you need to take any specific action before the image starts displaying correctly again? No, it doesn’t resolve on its own. Refreshing the page brings back the distortion. If there are any steps that temporarily make the issue disappear, please let us know. Changing the sort order to “Latest” clears the issue but reverting to default order brings back the distortion.
Hi there! Thank you for the additional information and for testing those steps. Based on your findings, especially that changing the sort order to “Latest” temporarily resolves the issue while reverting to the default order brings the distortion back, this does not appear to be related to the image file itself. Instead, it suggests that a theme or plugin may be affecting how the images are being displayed or loaded. Could you please run a conflict test and let us know the results? This will help determine whether the issue is being caused by a theme or another plugin on the site. You can find our complete guide here: https://woocommerce.com/document/how-to-test-for-conflicts/ If possible, we recommend performing these tests on a staging site first to avoid disrupting your live store. Once you’ve had a chance to run the conflict test, please share your findings and we’ll be happy to investigate further.
Generated staging site. All plug-ins and themes were up-to-date Pn staging site was unable to replicate the distortion. Cloned staging site back to Live site. After purging cache, issue appears tom be resolved. Will ask the client to check on their browsers after refreshing.
Hi @roland-devon Thank you for the update. I’m glad to hear that you were unable to reproduce the issue on the staging site and that the distortion appears to have been resolved after cloning the staging site back to live and purging the cache. At this point, having the client refresh their browser cache and confirm whether the issue is still present sounds like a good next step. If the issue does reappear, please let us know and share any additional details you can gather, such as screenshots, steps to reproduce, or whether it occurs in a specific browser. For now, it sounds like things are moving in the right direction. Please keep us posted on what the client reports.

Because the distortion is only happening on the live site but not on the staging, I have taken this up with my website host. The’ve come back to me now having made a few changes to my web optimisation rules, which appears to have resolved the issue Thanks for your help. Regatds Roland
Hi there! Thank you for the update. I’m glad to hear that your hosting provider was able to identify and adjust the web optimization rules, and that the distortion issue now appears to be resolved on the live site. Please continue to monitor the site over the next few days, and if the distortion returns or you notice any other issues, feel free to let us know and we’ll be happy to take another look.
