Is there a way to change the URL that it tweets so that, instead of being a link to the page, it’s a custom URL? https://wordpress.org/plugins/click-to-tweet-by-todaymade/ +1 for this – promise to keep the CoSchedule link too 🙂 Yes! In particular, I’d like to hook it up to automatically shorten through my bit.ly account. Thanks! Same question, but I’d like to use goo.le to shorten my link, or add it myself and not have the plugin automatically add a link if that’s an easier fix. Me too. Bit.ly please. Or any link shortener… Just started using this plugin today, and I was thinking the same thing! Great feedback guys. This is something we are hoping to do in a future release. Thank you for your suggestions! I tried to change the get_permalinks functions but I could make it work. I’d like to use a custom URl something like [Tweet url=URL] but automatically. thanks in advance! Hey folks, version 3.0 of my plugin ( a retool of this one) https://wordpress.org/plugins/better-click-to-tweet/ now supports bit.ly (or any other URL shortening service). Not trying to take any thunder from Justin and his team, but if you want that feature, give me a shot! I wrote a tutorial on how to set it up at http://benlikes.us/79 Enjoy. Ben i’ve had to make an edit to the plugin to replace get_permalink to wp_get_shortlink so that it uses a short link. I did this because i use the WP Bitly plugin for bitly short links. The plugin overrides the builtin wordpress short-link function to show Bitly and custom domain bitly links. It would be great if TodayMade updated the plugin to use wp_get_shortlink function for the post url
