supportI am not having any luck importing a schedule, and I also am very new to this type of stuff. I have read the online documentation. I have downloaded the example files. I formatted to MS-DOS CVS since I have a mac. Any additional instructions or files to help with this would be greatly appreciated. I am not sure how or if it is possible to attach the file I am trying to import to this topic. I did take a screenshot and here is the link… http://www.guyerwildcatbasketball.com/wp-content/uploads/Screen-Shot-2016-10-25-at-11.31.40-PM.png Thanks, Todd
Hey Todd, Thanks for posting here. Your question is a good one that may help others. It looks like you have done everything right with the file. I took the file you mailed to me, reduced it to the first 3 games, and imported it to my dev site without any problems so …. First, you stated that you downloaded the sample files, did you successfully upload any of them? That’s really what you want to do to get started. When that works, here are some questions: 1. Are you selecting a schedule in the CSV Import screen before importing the file? 2. Are any of these teams in the Teams DB before the import? 3. Do any games at all import? I saw there’s nothing on the front end, but are there any games on the Games Admin Screen? (If games are showing up in the DB, then it’s an issue with the shortcode incantation.) If not, then I would suggest: a. Reduce your file to ONE or TWO games and try again. b. Turn on WP DEBUG on your WP site. Try to import, then take a look at your debug.log in the /wp-content directory. 4. Finally, we can go back to first steps … What version of WP? (I’m on 4.6.1.) … What version of the plugin? (I’m on 1.4.1.) What theme? (I’m using a child theme from Twentytwelve.) What other plugins? (I’m running a bunch.) If there’s something happening with all that, it will show up in the debug.log . Let me know. -Mark BTW, the only way to “attach” files in this forum is exactly the way you did it. Load the file somewhere that is publicly accessible, and provide a link. Otherwise, you can just email it, like you did. -M
Thanks for the help. I have not resolved the problem yet, but I will keep at it.
Any resolution?
