I am sorry to say that WP Compress has been a disappointment. I invested a lot of time (and money) in the plugin and am reluctant to post this, but I really don’t see any improvement. It fails on the most basic task – to serve a compatible image to the browser. As a work around I use WebP Express to correctly serve images and disable the image optimisations in WP Compress.
